Whiskey Song 03:44
Well, my eyes are whiter than a crescent moon Yea, I've got more promise than a bride and groom but there're skeletons that live behind my smile I stand up straighter than a candlestick but my heart is as heavy as a cinder brick so I've got to trick my conscience for a while I'm gonna live before I'm dead I'm gonna dress the town in red Just remember what your momma always said Don't let the whiskey go to your head Well, my odds are better on a fixed roulette ‘cause my head is smoking like a cigarette and I'm laughing like a preacher while she cries My mind is missing like a puzzle piece Yea, I need some courage just to get relief ‘cause I'm watching while the young man in me dies I'm gonna set your soul on fire ‘cause momma's preaching to the choir Whoever said there is no heaven was a liar Just let the whiskey take you higher I'm gonna live before I'm dead I'm gonna dress the town in red Just remember what your momma always said Don't let the whiskey go to your head

Woah When we were younger Never ending summer We were running wild and free Birds of a feather Everyday together Thought it was forever Til you took it from me Woah oh oh Yea, it started to unravel Woah oh oh The way that you felt Woah oh oh My, how quickly rumors travel Found out I was just another notch in your belt In the beginning Thought that it was heaven Wondering where you’d been all my life My heart is breaking Guess I was mistaken Behind me you were waiting Just to sharpen your knife Woah oh oh Find yourself another sucker Woah oh oh Your own little fool Woah oh oh Now you’ll never find someone to Catch you when the world is falling down around you Beautiful Lucy Kiss me goodbye The way that you used me Are you surprised? I’ve heard all your excuses Oh, and I fell for all your lies Beautiful Lucy Cut me right down to size Woah Now I’m alone and Wake up in the morning Curse the very moment we met You were pretending Stole my happy ending Taught my heart a lesson That I’ll never forget Woah oh oh Yea, I won’t feel sorry for you Woah oh oh When you’re all alone Woah oh oh They’re all starting to ignore you Who you gonna run to when the fault is your own? Beautiful Lucy Kiss me goodnight Just because you accused me It don’t make it right Well you’ll have to excuse me Oh, if I don’t break down and cry Beautiful Lucy How do you sleep at night? What goes around comes back around

about

Call it ambitious, but The Whelming Waters’ genre-bending debut album, “Bon Voyage” is sure to surprise and delight you. Despite containing tracks with various instrumentation influenced by a wide variety of musical styles including rock n roll, blues, folk, and country, just to name a few, “Bon Voyage” somehow still maintains a remarkable cohesive element that can only be described as the sound of The Whelming Waters.
